Daniel Laufer Daniel Laufer (*1975) studied at the Braunschweig University of Art under Birgit Hein, Marina Abramovic and Walter Dahn and completed his meisterschüler education in 2004.
In his video installations he explores film aesthetics. Using various special effect techniques from film history he creates a theatre of perception that plays with language and writing, scenery, painting, time and performance. His installations allow the viewer to enter the space, to be part of the production process and complete the intermedial artwork.
His works have been shown nationally and internationally, including at Artists Space in New York, Bonn Museum of Modern Art, Jewish Museum Frankfurt, Jewish Museum Berlin,
Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen, Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof, Hamburg, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin and KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin.
