Schirin Kretschmann

Schirin Kretschmann Schirin Kretschmann (*1980) lives and works in Berlin and Munich. She studied art education, liberal arts and German at the State Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe, the ENPEG Esmeralda in Mexico City and at the University of Freiburg.
In her artistic practice, she moves between the poles of installation painting and processual work forms. In addition to works in public spaces and in the context of art in architecture, she has realised exhibitions in international institutions and has been awarded numerous prizes and scholarships. Schirin Kretschmann is regularly active in various interdisciplinary research contexts and curatorial projects and is investigating painting in the expanded field of action as part of an artistic-scientific PhD project at the Bauhaus University Weimar. She has taught at international art and design schools and is professor of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich since the 2020/21 winter semester.
