He studied at the Freiburg School of Art, Design and Popular Music, the Stuttgart State Academy of Fine Arts, and at the Basel Academy of Art and Design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jacob Ott works with a variety of media \u2013 from sculpture, assemblages, painting and installation to film, sound and performance. The style of his work is influenced by his exploration into the habits and symbols that shape social arrangements and institutions. Much of his work deals with the fundamental elements of art production and the individual components and structures of the institution of art itself.
