Open Calls

Our extensive and continuously updated database lists current regional, national, and international calls for artists to apply for scholarships, residencies, grants, competitions, prizes and continuing education opportunities within the visual arts sector.

The database also provides an overview of interesting further education opportunities for visual artists.

We personally select the calls we feature online, but do not make any claim to the completeness of our database. The Kunstbuero does not accept any responsibility and is not liable for the accuracy of the content of the open calls or the content of the external websites they link to.

The Kunstbuero also publishes a regular e-newsletter that keeps its subscribers informed about the latest and most interesting calls for applications, the Kunstbuero’s own programme, and other news.

All open calls in our database are listed in the language of their original publication. Therefore the database includes calls in English and German.

For organisational reasons the Kunstbuero does not list any calls for applications that require applicants to have their place of residence or primary place of employment in any other federal state than Baden-Wuerttemberg.

The database only features calls that are open for application. Recommendation-based calls and prizes are not included.

The following institutions and organisations provide more extensive databases for open calls and support programmes among other things:
