To mark the 180th anniversary of the Goldoni Theatre’s inauguration, the Fondazione Teatro della Città di Livorno “Carlo Goldoni” launches an international open call for a site-specific contemporary artwork dedicated to the historic velario, the great vaulted canopy spanning its auditorium. Entitled “Il Teatro della Luce” (The Theatre of Light), the winning project explores the relationship between contemporary art, architecture and natural light. 

Artists, collectives and curators of all ages and nationalities can apply.

The selected artist or group will receive a fee of 15,000 USD, with a separate production budget of up to 20,000 USD, managed directly by the Foundation to cover the creation and installation of the work.
