BEK –  Bergen Centre for Electronic Arts – is an interdisciplinary production centre for art and technology, established in 2000 in Bergen, Norway. BEK develops, produces and showcases projects at the intersection of contemporary art, technology and social critique. Professional practitioners working on art projects involving sound, moving image or electronics can apply for a studio residency at BEK lasting between 2–6 weeks.Projects that are experimental in their use of technology, or examine the relationship between technology, art and society are favoured.

BEK studio residency is open to professional artists who are not enrolled in a full time study program (with the exception of Ph.D. candidates).

BEK offers their facilities and equipment, and expect artists to work independently. However, studio residents are also able to book advice sessions with our in-house experts to help with specific project needs. Residents get 24/7 access to BEK premises. Residents at BEK are invited (but not required) to present their work during their stay at BEK – as a work-in-progress or a finished result. Please note that BEK offers their production facilities only, and does not cover travel, accommodation or project costs. BEK can provide the artist with a letter of intent for funding applications upon request.

This open call applies to residencies in the period 1 September – 30 November 2026. The open call for the Spring 2027 residencies will be announced later with an application deadline in August 2026.
