Hampi Arts Lab in India invites artists who have previous experience in working with indigo for a 3 months long on site residency from October to December under the theme of „Tracing Blue: Reimagining Craft, Culture & Material Futures, a cross-disciplinary art residency on Indigo, sustainability & material innovation“. This program explores Indigo as more than a dye – as a living medium for ecological imagination, critical design, and sustainable practice. Artists-in-residence will engage in special workshops and learn from African and Japanese Indigo masters.
Creative practitioners working with ceramics, bamboo, wood, and textiles can apply. Prior experience with Indigo is mandatory.
A weekly stipend of INR 15000 and a one-time production grant of INR 60000 (597,40 Euro) are provided for the duration of the residency to enable the execution of an approved proposed project. Beyond the stipend, residents are responsible for their personal expenses, such as art materials and supplies. The residents must arrange health and travel insurance, and VISA (if applicable) for the duration of their stay. Residents are provided with comfortable private accommodation on-campus with chargeable laundry facilities.Residents have access to private or shared studios.
