HIAP Helsinki International Artist Programme is calling for applications for the Learning Materials residency (12 April – 11 July 2027 or 16 August – 14 November 2027). The project partners invite applications for residencies focused on socially engaged, process-orientated and material-driven practices. The residencies focus on research and experimentation, with no designated output. Applicants will need to demonstrate expertise in material and socially engaged practices.
International artists and arts practitioners (based outside of Finland) can apply.
Residency conditions: Travel to and from the artist’s home (1 return trip) – slow travel is encouraged where it is feasible for the artist and support is available for making travel arrangements; Working grant of 1,350 EUR per month (4,050 EUR in total) via Kone Foundation; Material budget up to 750 EUR; Access budget up to 1,000 EUR; Accommodation and workspace.
