The Principal Residency Program is oriented towards confirmed artists as well as up-and-coming practitioners with a high development potential. Our thematic focus remains unchanged: we intend to continue exploring the notions of nature, the environment, and technology and their interplay through projects originating from (almost) all disciplines of the artistic spectrum. Applicants may apply for a three-month or six-month residency (organized into two three-month periods), which must take place between January and November 2024.
The residency includes:
a monthly grant of CHF 1,500 to cover living costs and part of their production costs. The amount of the grant is adapted for collectives according to the number of members in the group.
a live/work apartment for the duration of their stay. Each apartment is 80sqm in size, with a fully equipped kitchen, a washer and dryer, a separate bedroom and bathroom, and a flexible main living/workspace of approx. 40sqm, plus a terrace facing Lake Geneva. Depending on the needs, residents will also be allocated the exclusive or shared use of one of our artists’ studios.
Residents also have access to a professionally equipped music and recording studio, a wood workshop, a workshop for ceramic production as well as a 3D printer.
Partners and/or children may stay with residents during their residency. La Becque also offers additional monthly financial support of CHF 1,000 to help with childcare costs.
