The Maya Arte Contemporanea Artist Residency was first launched in 2021, thanks to the generous hospitality of collectors Umberto Morera and Anna Maria Balsano Morera. The month-long Residency takes place in Romazzano annually in May, a small village located about 8 km from Todi (Perugia, Italy). In keeping with the Gallery’s commitment to fostering concrete initiatives in support of women in contemporary art, the Residency is open exclusively to female artists.

The Call is open to female artists born after 31 December 1985 in the mediums of drawing, painting, photography, video, sculpture, or other visual art forms.

The Artist awarded the Residency will have exclusive use of a self-contained, fully furnished apartment for the entire month of May 2026. The apartment is located on a large private property in a rural area, 8 km from the town of Todi (Perugia), Italy. The Artist will receive a contribution of €1,000 towards living expenses at the beginning of the Residency.
