McColl Center’s Artist-in-Residence Program hosts three residencies per year, that aim to serve as a catalyst for artistic growth for emerging and mid-career artists. While in residency, artists have the freedom to fully focus on artistic research, exploration, and creation while also engaging with McColl Center’s Igniters community and the local creative sector.
Artists-in-Residence receive private housing adjacent to McColl Center, a large-scale private studio in the historic building in Uptown Charlotte with access to labs and studios, curatorial guidance, and a stipend of $6,000 over the 14 week residency.
Extras: For Children of the artist of the ages 6-14, a summer-camp is provided. For those with children under 6, there is no daycare on site, but partners or caretakers are allowed to stay in the condo with artists if desired.
