Nordic Artists’ Centre Dale (NKD) is a non-profit Artist-in-Residence centre funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Culture and Equality and run by an independent foundation. The Artist-in-Residence program is dedicated to long-term residencies for visual artists, architects, and designers, typically lasting 2–4 months.  NKD is located in the village of Dale in Sunnfjord, on the west coast of Norway. Up to five artists are hosted at a time, offering space for focused, independent work and artistic development. At the same time, NKD is a small, shared community where everyone contributes to creating a supportive and respectful environment for themselves and others. There are no formal requirements regarding the outcome of your residency. However, during your stay, you will be invited to give a presentation of your work and participate in an open day for the public

Professional artists, designers or architects who are not full-time students can apply.

NKD provides residents with a private house, a spacious studio, large common areas and access to shared, well equipped facilities. The residency includes a monthly grant of NOK 11,000 and travel reimbursement up to NOK 5,000.
