Villa Aurora was established in 1995 as an artists‘ residence and venue for international encounters in the former exile home of Lion and Marta Feuchtwanger in Pacific Palisades. In 2026, the Villa Aurora in Los Angeles will once again welcome artists from Germany. This historic and inspiring location offers fellows the opportunity to work on their projects for three months while engaging in vibrant cultural exchange with other creatives. 

Applications may be submitted in the fields of film, literature, and composition by freelance artists residing in Germany who have publicly recognized works in literature, film, or composition. German citizenship is not required. Applications in the field of visual arts are accepted by invitation only.

The fellowship includes a monthly stipend of €2,500 (including project funding), a travel allowance of €1,275, a mobility grant of €600 per month, and free accommodation. Child allowances (if applicable): EUR 400 per month for the first accompanying child, EUR 100 for each additional child.
