Iden Sungyoung Kim (*1991) lives and works in Karlsruhe, Berlin and Seoul. She studied Media Art at the Karlsruhe University of Art and Design. She also received her bachelor’s degree in painting at Ewha Womans University in Seoul and took part in a guest study programme at the Berlin University of the Arts.

Her works provoke controversial discussions about socio-political irony in history and enable critical reflection on current problems. In her research-based artistic practice, she examines the political polarisation in technological development from a historical perspective, which is interwoven with the current economic and political system. Her artistic language coincides with the diachronic examination through visual media.

Iden Sungyoung Kims Arbeiten wurden international präsentiert, u. a. in London, Berlin, Stockholm, Kyoto, Karlsruhe, sowie Venedig. Iden Sungyoung Kim’s works have been presented internationally, including in London, Berlin, Stockholm, Kyoto, Karlsruhe and Venice.
