Marla Gwendolyn Fischinger
Mentee: Raphael Sbrzesny
Marla Gwendolyn Fischinger (*1998) lives and works in Stuttgart. She studied Fine Art at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart with Reto Boller and Birgit Brenner, completing her diploma in 2024 under the supervision of Flaka Haliti and Anike Joyce Sadiq.
At the centre of her artistic practice are questions surrounding emotional fragility and psychological instability, and their interactions with the body and interpersonal relationships. Drawing on personal experiences and memories, she creates works situated between autofictional reflection, scientific references and staged scenarios, in which inner states manifest visually, linguistically and spatially. She works with text in combination with photography, video and drawing; lyrical and prose texts form an integral part of her installations.
Most recently, her work has been presented in group exhibitions at Kunstraum 34, Künstlerhaus Stuttgart and Württembergischer Kunstverein.
