Martin Pfeifle (*1975) lives and works in Düsseldorf. He studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf under Tony Cragg and was a meisterschüler under Hubert Kiecol.
Martin Pfeifle’s installation works are usually created in situ and incorporate the surrounding space. This way, the perception of space interacts with deliberations on sustainable materials used in sculpture.
Amongst other recognitions he was awarded the Villa Romana Prize in Florence and has received sponsorships from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the city of Düsseldorf. His works have been shown in exhibitions at home and abroad, including projects presented in public spaces. He was a scholarship holder of the Stiftung Kunstfonds Bonn and the Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg and received the Wilhelm Lehmbruck Sculpture Prize. Since 2021, Pfeifle has been a professor for the department of “Körper Raum Struktur” at the Peter Behrens School of Arts/University of Düsseldorf.
