Myriam Holme

Mentee: Lennart Cleemann

Myriam Holme (*1971) lives and works in Mannheim. She studied fine arts at the State Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe under Meuser and Andreas Slominski.

Holme’s art creates a fine connection between painting, sculpture and installation. Her broadened concept of painting is based on the experimental and the processual, though both should be seen as originating from the material. This results in paintings that can be thought of as expansive and unfinished, that do not settle into the existing, but remain in constant motion.

Myriam Holme has received numerous awards and her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. Since 2008 she has held multiple visiting professorship and teaching positions. Together with Philipp Morlock, she founded and runs Einraumhaus c/o and is also co-creator of the new art venue barac – Kunst/Labor/Soziales in Mannheim, which opened in 2020. www.myriamholme.de
