Nils Weiligmann Nils Weiligmann (*1988) lives and works in Karlsruhe. He studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe as well as is in Tianjin (China) and Minnesota (United States of America). He was a meisterschüler under Leni Hoffmann.
Nils Weiligmann’s works are a mix of objects and site-specific installations. The ruinous touches he brings into the materials shape and define his works. The objects wear and tire throughout the creation process. They develop an allure that repels at the same time.
The parasitic installations ‘claw’ their way into architecture, begin to ‘encroach’ and redefine spaces. In doing so they not only undermine the original use of the location, but also demand new behaviour from the viewers.
His work has been shown in numerous exhibitions in, for example, Karlsruhe, Freiburg, Basel, Cologne and Minneapolis.
